And other nicknames from time to time... [ Note to self: call Wriothesley by his title more often in bed. ] Eventually, I would not be opposed to being referred to as your husband if you are not opposed, though I understand such formalities are difficult to achieve in this world. There would have to be documentation drawn up and a ceremony to formalize the union.
I am also currently the only one who could notarize the union, though this town is far outside my jurisdiction, but given the extenuating circumstances, I couldβ now, is not the proper time to consider it, is it? Forgive me for allowing my thoughts to run.
Husband is... [ a jump? maybe?? but they are already mates, so this really isn't that big of a change. it would just be solidifying their bond in a more 'human' way. still, his face colors at the prospect. ]
We can talk about that more later, since it'll be a little... involved. It's fine Neuvillette. I don't mind. I think it might be prudent to weight the pros and cons of doing so here vs. Fontaine. I'm sure Sigewinne would be upset if she missed us taking a step like that without her present.
I would not wish for her or any of the Melusines to miss it either...
[ He moves on his side so he can pull Wriothesley backwards into his own chest and spoon him from behind, his tail winding around his thigh a few times. ]
I just do not wish to live another moment without being yours and you mine nor for the formal distance between us to return.
[ he squirms enough to free his tail, which swishes idly between his legs as neuvillette's own winds around his thigh. ] I think we should save a proper ceremony for home, but that doesn't mean we can't do something special here... prior to marriage I have heard that people exchange promise rings. It's something given with intent of fulfillment... in this case, an eventual marriage. I'll promise to be yours and you promise to be mine... not that we haven't already, but it's a bit more formal.
Rings would be a nice compromise, assuming you we do not spend the rest of your lifetime here. I would do all in my power to see us both home safely before that.
What sort of ring would you like? I can gather raw materials while exploring, though the gemstones may be more difficult to procure.
I don't think we'll be here forever. [ he's not going to think that negatively. ] I'm just not sure when we'll be able to get home.
I don't need anything too fancy. A dark band would be fine. I fight with my fists, Neuvillette, so having something with a gemstone, however small, would do more harm than good.
We can at least engrave it with something meaningful βperhaps each other's constellations? I would not be opposed to an turquoise or gem silica stone on mine, though I will have to wear it on a chain when I swim to keep it from getting lost.
...oh, I like that. I'm not sure how we're going to get them engraved here, but we can figure that out later. [ getting the rings is the first ( and most important ) step. ] Whatever precious gem or stone you choose I could always have my band inlaid with some of it, so they still match.
I will ask around and see if anyone has any expertise in working with precious metals or jewelry-making, but we can take care of that later. You need your rest first and foremost. I will remain here if you need me for anything.
Alright. And if push comes to shove... then perhaps we can get the rings through a burden and take care of the carving and engraving ourselves. It might be a little crude, but that'll be a part of their charm.
I know, Neuvillette. I never doubted that. [ he does finally shut his eyes and slump against him, nuzzling into his chest. ] But finding peace here, of all places, is never going to happen... [ because there's always just so much uncertainty. they could be torn away from each other right now! and forced to play another!! game!!! ...thankfully that doesn't happen, and he can just snuggle that much closer to neuvillette. ] But I'll do my best, especially because I have you here. [ he will eventually drift off to sleep... so there's that. ]

I do really love you, my mate βmy belovedβΒ my Wriothesley. Take solace in that, if nothing else. Please try and find some peace in this madness.
