[ and there's going to be radio silence from wriothesley for approximately four hours. he was doing some scavenging when he sent neuvillette the text, but fresh fruit is nigh impossible to find. he had no luck at food land, so he decided to poke around for some trees... and that's just as hard, if not harder, since he's not sure what the hell he's even looking for around here. eventually, he finds the farm, but the fruits on the trees surrounding that are... bruised, at best. ]

Heading back now.

[ The text catches him off-guard. Neuvillette had been certain Wriothesley had given up trying to find fresh fruit by now, but then again, he's always been the earnest and persistent type. ]

You have kept your word,

[ he arrives a few minutes behind neuvillette with a small backpack slung over one of his shoulders. ] Well that took longer than I expected. Thanks for coming.

I hope the search was not too troublesome, though canned peaches would have also sufficed.

[ He doubts it would taste as fresh and delectable as peaches fresh from the vine, but he's trying not to be picky in this world. ]

I am grateful for your efforts nevertheless, Wriothesley.

[ Spoken with a slightly softer, more sincere voice than usual. ]

Not at all. A little time consuming... but here's to hoping the peaches are well worth the effort. [ he did find some canned fruit cocktail, but it probably tastes more like sugar than anything. ] ...heh, think nothing of it. I did promise... a peach after all. [ h- hah. there's a bit of strain to his tone there, because he did not mean THIS kind of peach, but oh well. ]

[ he moves the pack around to his front and digs around for the bruised peaches. ] Most of the ones I found were not in the best shape, so... [ try not to be too disappointed. ] Here. [ he has three peaches to show for his efforts. ]

[ Just finding one is a feat but three. Neuvillette is a little impressed. More than a little. He grabs one of the peaches, not minding the bruising too much so long as it's not outright spoiled and covered in maggots. ]

Yes, plenty. To begin with, you masked your intentions behind purposely ambiguous language and an "emoji." Then when I misunderstood your intent, you did not correct me once. Lastly, you continued to play along to the extent where you retrieved fruit for me in a town nearly depleted of fresh crops and living plants.

[ He's really not sure what to make of the Wriothesley's unhinged actions, except that they are definitely uniquely on brand. ]

If your intent was to leave me confounded, you have succeeded.

[ Humans –especially Wriothesley– continue to be enigmas wrapped in riddles wrapped in more enigmas. ]

[ ...did he just acknowledge his phat ass? for a moment he's stunned, but then he snaps to, so he can listen to neuvillette's 'scolding'. ] Yeah, that about sums it up. [ he did all of that and, what's worse, is he'd do it all again. sure, he spent several hours scouring the area for fruit, specifically peaches, but it was well worth it to see neuvillette enjoy them. ]

I wanted your opinion on my peach. [ on peach(butt) and peach(fruit). ] And I got it.

[ Nor will he. That's too improper of his station, and it would require more examination than he is prepared to give at this moment. ]

Right. Of course. I don’t want the others to go to waste, so, here, enjoy them too. [ you can have the other two peaches, neuvillette. ]

This is far too many. One would suffice, and regardless of your initial intentions, I still appreciate the thought. Will you enjoy one alongside me? An actual peach.

I'll admit that I hadn't intended to take it this far, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't worth it on your reaction alone. To the fruit, that is, not... the other thing. [ he gives neuvillette a lopsided smile as he stifles a laugh. ] You seemed to enjoy it, which is why I want you to at least take the other one. We can share the second.

As I said before, it is the tartness of the water trapped within that makes it especially delectable, and luckily, the interior is far more appetizing the bruised exterior would suggest.

[ He takes the second one and breaks it carefully, wishing he had a knife to make this neater. As it is, a lot of the peach juice ends up oozing down his fingers. ]
