[ Case File #1: Featherface Murders ]
Timeline
Day 3
- Upon escaping the scarecrow invasion, both Duke Wriothesley and I swam to the cabins for safety. No peculiar scents were noted nor did we find any questionable evidence lying around. The cabin was dusty inside but seemingly untouched and unoccupied for an unknown yet lengthy amount of time. Several blankets and towels were used by us to dry off. The fireplace was functional.
Day 4
-TwoThree main groups traveled to the cabins at the center of the lake late evening.
- One group was attacked by the megalodon, described in various local tomes, and experienced a single casualty: Madame Valencia Lambe of the Gluttony House.
- Survivors of the other two groups found the following items (submitted by Monsieur Miguel O'Hara, Monsieur Kalim Al-Asim, and an Anonymous tip):
- The third group, consisting of Duke Wriothesley, Madamoiselle Kurumi, the Wanderer, and myself, made it safely to the cabins where we began our investigation. We found the following items:
- The scent in the cabin at the time was reminiscent of decomposed corpses, suggesting the state had been altered from Duke Wriothesley's and my previous visit.
- The Wanderer had struck the murderer with a knife then was later murdered by sharks en route back to the main land.
- Later that evening, both Duke Wriothesley and I remained on the island to continue investigating while everyone else went to check the graveyard and morgue for the recently deceased. We found Monsieur Flamme's body with several deep lacerations, suggesting he had been murdered by a machete similar to the one that had been found inside the cabin.
[ Detailed notes about the crime scene have been redacted. ]
- Monsieur Flamme's body was transported to land to be safely buried by his close cohorts.
Day 6
- Duke Wriothesley, Monsieur Flamme, Monsieur Schoenheit, and I returned to investigate the cabins. There were no incidents encountered while traveling there.
- We found the following:
- The murderer appeared in the midst of our investigation, and an altercation took place between all those present. Monsieur Flamme managed to strike the murderer and draw blood. The blood was thick and black with a pungent odor that showed signs of advanced decomposition, making it evident that the murderer is not human.
- The murderer escaped after being injured, and the investigation party concluded their search for the evening after finding nothing else of note then crossed the lake once more without incident.
